The Company

CRAWFORD, SMITH & SHARP, LLC is a versatile construction company providing a broad range of services to the building industry. The company has completed over 9000 projects since its inception in September of 1991. Our vast experience includes new construction of residential and commercial projects as well as the renovation and restoration of residential, commercial and apartment community properties.

Project Management

Projects are handled with an established method that assures satisfaction for the client. Our experienced project managers and field superintendents use their individual talents to produce a quality product. The project manager, typically one of the business owners, oversees the entire construction process. The field superintendent schedules daily construction activities, monitors job progress and ensures quality standards are being met. Communication is maintained with the property owner or manager throughout the project to ensure that their concerns are being addressed. Each project manager and his superintendent are responsible and accountable for job progress and customer satisfaction.

Reggie Crawford, Owner
Reggie Crawford is a graduate of Mississippi State University, with a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering. He worked with the engineering firm of Ellers, Oakley, Chester & Rike, Inc., where he performed structural design and served as project manager over many multi-disciplined engineering projects. He is a licensed professional engineer in the state of Tennessee. He has twenty-seven years combined experience in construction and engineering. His experience in design and management provides expertise in all phases of construction projects.

Ben Smith, Owner
Ben R. Smith is a graduate of Harding University where he earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in accounting. He is a certified public accountant licensed in the state of Tennessee. He has broad experience in the public and private accounting industries. He also has nine years of residential and commercial construction experience. His financial and construction background provide a unique expertise in both project and business management.

Dale Sharp, Owner
Dale Sharp earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Engineering Technology from the University of Memphis and is a native to the Memphis area. He has over twenty years of estimating and management experience in both the residential and commercial areas of the industry. From 1994 through 1997, Dale managed a Nashville based office for the company. He has been involved in all aspects of new construction, renovation, and both historical and insurance restoration. This broad base of experience provides for proficiency in a wide array of projects.

Kim Jones, Marketing Director
Kim Jones joined the CSS family in July 2007. She is a 20-year veteran in the Multifamily and Property Management industry. She comes to us with a sincere enthusiasm for the business and an acute sense of what each customer needs. Kim has a degree in Marketing at the University of Memphis. She also serves on the Board of Directors of the Apartment Association of Greater Memphis (AAGM) where her efforts were rewarded in 2004 with “Associate Volunteer of the Year”. Kim is also active in other associations in the surrounding area.

Dave Robbins, Estimator/Project Manager
Dave Robbins has a widely known reputation for his knowledge and involvement in the construction industry. He provides more than 20 years of experience, specializing in the restoration and renovation of multi-family properties, as well as extensive commercial and industrial insurance restoration expertise. Dave has earned the prestigious designation of Certified Restorer (CR) from the National Institute of Disaster Restoration. He is a native to the Memphis area and attended the University of Memphis, with a concentration in business. Dave's well rounded experience and skillful communication, along with his superior client relations skills, provide CSS with essential support and strength.

Chris Popwell, Estimator/Project Manager Chris joins the team with 7+ years of construction and engineering experience. Having graduated from Christian Brothers University with a degree in Civil Engineering, Chris brings with him the qualities needed to accurately estimate and oversee projects. Chris "grew up" in his family business of contracting which makes him a great fit for the CSS team.
